Casting Hall is Buffalo State's student operated and funded theater production company and co-producer for the Theater Department’s season. Casting Hall provides students with the opportunity to get practical experience in all aspects of the production. This includes publicity, costume and set construction, technical staffing, production management and budget management. Casting Hall receives its budget from the United Students Government and the mandatory student activity fee.
All Buffalo State students are welcome! Held on the first Tuesday of every month, in the Flexible Theatre, Donald Savage Building, during Bengal Pause, 12:15-1:30 p.m.
Amber Greer is a senior theater major, with a minor in dance. She is focusing on performance and technical theater. She has always wanted to be part of Casting Hall since her first year at Buffalo State. She is honored to begin her official term as Casting Hall's President. Her main goal for the Casting Hall members is to bring new outside resources to help build their skills and interests. She hopes to make this year life-changing for everyone involved with Casting Hall.
Ayanna Anderson is a junior media productions major and theater minor, taking on the role of Vice President for Casting Hall. This will be her first time taking on a leadership role with major responsibilities. Not only is she excited to see what the school year holds but also eagerly ready to learn and grow through her peers. During her run of Vice President, she hopes to bring in more diversity among students, along with encourage the student body to take more risks and on focus on their individuality.
Lissette DeJesús is a Sophomore Theatre Major here at Buffalo State. Currently, she is an ensemble member of Raíces Theatre Company and hopes to continue her studies at Buffalo State. To be a part of Casting Hall's E-Board is an honor and privilege and Lissette plans to make creative contributions to the campus, alongside her committee members.
Jacob Fleuricot is a sophomore theater major and leadership minor. His focus is on performance and directing. This will be his first year on the E-Board as production manager of Casting Hall. His main goal as production manager is to help students get involved within the theater department and bring fun ideas to the table for everyone to enjoy. He also wants all productions within the department to go with a hit. Jacob is excited to be part of the Casting Hall Board.
Gabriella J. McKinley is a junior theater major concentrating in musical theater with a legal studies minor. This will be her fourth semester serving as Casting Hall’s Treasurer. Gabriella’s interest in joining Casting Hall stemmed from her desire to create, work, and learn with people of similar mindsets and interests while finding a home on Buffalo State’s campus. As a Casting Hall E-Board member, Gabriella hopes to engage the creativity of the student body to continually build unity and teamwork within the Theater Department and beyond. Being a part of the executive board has allowed her to build skills she didn’t know she had and use them to realize her future goals.
Nathaniel Schumacher is a sophomore wood/furniture major and theater minor. This is his first year on the Casting Hall E-Board as the Audience Services Manager. He has been involved with theater arts since his freshman year of high school. His goal in this position is to make the theater experience fun, safe and welcoming for everyone, and to get more people interested and involved.
Cristalis Bonilla-Rivera is a senior theater major with a focus on film. This will be her first and last year on Casting Hall's E-Board serving as their secretary. Organization and time management are two of her favorite skills to bring to every project she works on. Cristalis is eager to take on this new responsibility, and hopes to learn as much as she can along the way.
