Casting Hall is Buffalo State's student operated and funded theater production company and co-producer for the Theater Department’s season. Casting Hall provides students with the opportunity to get practical experience in all aspects of the production. This includes publicity, costume and set construction, technical staffing, production management and budget management. Casting Hall receives its budget from the United Students Government and the mandatory student activity fee.
All Buffalo State students are welcome! Held on the first Tuesday of every month, in the Flexible Theatre, Donald Savage Building, during Bengal Pause, 12:15-1:30 p.m.
Lucas Colon is a senior theater and fine arts major, with a minor in geography. He is focusing on performance, with a concentration in musical theater. He has previously served as vice president on the Casting Hall Executive Board. His main goal as president of Casting Hall is to develop and maintain a strong student body for the Theater Department, with special outreach to students in other departments. He also hopes to nurture leadership skills in developing students, ensuring a strong future for the department.
Angelica Wong is a junior theater major and vice president of Casting Hall. Her focus is on performance and set construction and design. This is her first time being on the E-Board. Angelica ran for the position because it gives her experience in networking as well as event planning. She wants to help promote the department across campus and beyond, and to educate students about all that theater has to offer.
Ezra Bedoya is a sophomore theater major beginning his first semester as marketing manager of Casting Hall Productions. He is excited to bring a new face to Casting Hall and looks forward to working with his fellow E-Board members to bring an enjoyable experience to everyone. When not at meetings or classes, he works on his academic career.
Mariah Faulkner is a sophomore theater major. Her focus is on performance and tech. This will be her first year on the E-Board as production manager of Casting Hall. Her main goal as production manager is to help students get involved in the technical side of productions as much as they can.
Gabriella McKinley is a sophomore theater major, concentrating in musical theater, and a legal studies minor. She currently serves as the treasurer on Casting Hall’s E-Board. During her first semester, Gabriella served as Casting Hall’s Marketing Manager, then became treasurer in her second. Gabriella’s interest in joining Casting Hall stemmed from her desire to create, work, and learn with people of similar mindsets and interests while finding a home on her new campus. As a Casting Hall E-Board member, Gabriella hopes to engage the creativity of the student body to continually build unity and teamwork within the Theater Department.
Sydney Bouthsavong is a senior arts and letters major. Her focus is in stage and film makeup. Previous work has included Cabaret and various short films. This is her first year on the Casting Hall E-Board as audience services manager. Her goal is for more students to help grow the building theater community.
NaShay Kelly is a sophomore theater major. This will be her first year on Casting Hall's E-Board, currently serving as their secretary. She uses theater as a way to tell stories crucial for society's betterment and feels strongly about using theater as a tool of activism. She hopes to get students engaged in collaborating, being creative and presenting compelling projects to transform the way people think.
