Melissa can be found teaching various dance technique and pedagogy classes at the SUNY Buffalo State College, along with working as the off-ice coach for the Canadian precision skate team NEXXICE.  After training with the National Ballet School of Canada, she went on to the opportunity to work and perform with many inspirational teachers and choreographers including: Gregory Hines, Gus Giordano, and Jose Limon’s muse Daniel Lewis. Prior to her North American tour with Mia Michaels, she completed degrees in dance, psychology and a Master’s in Deaf education. Along with being a credentialed elementary school teacher, credentialed member of the Canadian Dance teachers Association, and certified in Acrobatics, Melissa has decades of experience in public and private education working with diverse populations. She has generated many projects both formal and informal, as California’s physical integration specialist of the year nominee and as a professional dancer, educator, creator and member of Dance and Children International and the National Dance Educators Organization. Her students can be found dancing throughout communities and in the industry on So You Think You Can DanceDancing with the Stars and Broadway. As an international teacher on inclusive kinesthetic teaching and learning methods her goal is to create accessibility for all to experience the catharsis of dancing.
